ENERGY SAFETY

ENERGY SAFETY is responsible for the technical and safety regulation of all the electrical industry and most of gas industry.This regulation includes the safety and energy efficiency of appliances and certain type of equipment.

Energy Safety also promotes electrical and gas safety to people in the home at work and in various ways encourages electrical and gas workers in industry to use safe work practices.

ENERGY SAFETY TIPS for the:
LPG
Do not attempt to repair gas appliances.Instead hired a licensed gas fitter to do the work.Take note that "not all plumbers are licensed gas fitters".

Appliances Using LPG
Before turning on a gas burner,light the match or press the ignition button.If the burner will not light,turn off and wait for the gas smell to clean before trying again.Do not turn the gas up to frill before igniting it.

Cylinders
*When carrying a cylinders in the car it should be in an upright position.
*Do not connect or disconnect in the vicinity of a naked flame.
*Cylinders should be stored outside in a well ventilated area.
*Replace cracked or damage hoses.

Gas Leaks On Pipes
If you smell gas inside your home :
*Turn off all appliances and pilot lights.
*Turn off the supply at the gas meter or cylinder.
*Open all doors and windows for ventilation.
*Contact your licensed gas fitter.
*If you suspect a gas leak,do not use a naked flame or other ignition source like lights switches,mobile phones and cigarettes.

There are different types of safety equipment available like safety switches,smoke alarms,safety plugs,surge protectors and fire blankets and extinguishers.
In stalling of these equipment,be sure that:
*It should be tested well before installing.
*It passed the quality control.
*It is fitted to your property.
*It should be installed by a registered electrical contractor.
